    It is that time of year! Goreville C.U.S.D. #1 registration is this Tuesday, July 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the high school gym. Due to construction, the only entrance that will be open that day is the high school entrance. For registration materials, go to the tab "Parents". For all returning students, WELCOME BACK! For all of our new families, WELCOME TO GOREVILLE SCHOOLS!

    The Lady Blackcats defeated the Hardin-Calhoun Warriors 2-0 in 9 innings to win the schools 2nd State Softball Championship and 3rd overall in the past 5 years!!!!

    The Blackcats fell to Peoria Heights 4-3 in the semifinals but bounced back to defeat Somonauk to take 3rd Place in State!!!

    The Goreville Marching Blackcats were AWESOME yesterday performing in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. on national television!

  • WEBB NAMED CONFERENCE MVP!

    Congratulations to Blackcat Braden Webb for being named the 2017 M.V.P. of the Black Diamond Conference West in basketball! He becomes just the 3rd player in school history to earn the award! Braden averaged 20 points per game and is the 4th leading scorer in school history as a junior as he helped lead the Blackcats to the 2017 Conference Championship!

  • ALBRIGHT AND CALHOON FFA STATE CHAMPS!

    Congratulations to Goreville FFA members Summar Albright and Jacob Calhoon for winning State Proficiency Awards at the University of Illinois last weekend! Jacob won State in Grain Production and Summar won State in Landscape Management! They both now compete for a National Title in Indianapolis, IN.

    Congratulations to the Goreville Elementary School Drama Club for their GREAT PERFORMANCE of "Peter Pan: The Musical" this weekend! The gym was packed and we broadcast the performance for the first time on the Blackcats Network because we are PROUD of you and your efforts!

  • BLACKCAT SCHOLAR BOWL REGIONAL CHAMPS!

    Congratulations to the Goreville High School Blackcats Scholar Bowl Team for winning the IHSA 1A Regional Championship! They defeated Hardin County, Pope County, and Eldorado High School to advance to the IHSA Sectionals! The tournament also included Gallatin County, Vienna, Crab Orchard, and Carrier Mills.

  • GOREVILLE SCHOOLS APPROVES NEW ADDITION

    The Goreville C.U.S.D. #1 Board of Education, in their December meeting, approved a new building project to add a multi-purpose facility to the Early Learning Center and Goreville Elementary School that will serve as an area for assemblies, recess, physical education, and elementary athletics. “The facility will be designed to accommodate the growth in not only the student numbers, but also provide a gymnasium that actually meets code and playing regulations for middle school size students.” said architect Michael Baysinger.

  • DR. WEBB NAMED "SUPERINTENDENT OF DISTINCTION" BY STATE

    Goreville CUSD #1 Superintendent Dr. Steve Webb has been selected as the 2015 Superintendent of Distinction for the Illinois Association of School Administrators Shawnee Region consisting of southernmost Illinois’ 11 counties. Dr. Webb is currently serving his 16th year as a School Superintendent and is a member of the Governing Board of the American Association of School Administrators and is the former President of the Illinois Association of School Administrators and the Association of Illinois Rural and Small Schools (AIRSS).

  • GOREVILLE FFA NAMED TOP 10 IN NATION!

    The Goreville High School FFA was honored in Indianapolis, IN at the 2016 National FFA Convention for being one of the top 10 clubs in America! The Goreville High School FFA has consistently been a nationally recognized club as this is their 5th time to reach the top 10. Congratulations to the members, the sponsor Mr. Robison, and all of the volunteers that help with the program. We are PROUD of you!

  • WEBB AND GLIDEWELL BREAK TOURNAMENT RECORDS

    Congratulations to Blackcats Braden Webb and Brant Glidewell as they broke the scoring and rebounding tournament records respectively this past week in the Goreville Invitational Tournament! Webb scored 135 points breaking the previous record of 114 and averaging 27 points per game including two 30 plus point games while Glidewell pulled down a record 19 rebounds in a game and 63 for the tournament (39 was the previous record) and averaged a double-double - points and rebounds!

    Congratulations to the Goreville Schools Arts Program and the wonderfully talented cast and crew for their performance of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" this weekend!
