    The Goreville Junior Blackcats Baseball Team defeated Fairfield but lost to Smithton and Nashville to claim 4th Place in the SIJHSAA State Tournament!

    2010 GOREVILLE JR HIGH SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL TEAMS BOTH FALL AT STATE TOURNAMENT

    The Goreville Jr. Blackcats Baseball Team and the Jr. Lady Cats Softball Team both won Regional Championships in their respective Regional Tournaments to earn a birth at the Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (IJHSAA) State Tournament!!!  The Jr. Lady Cats moved on to play at the IJHSAA State Tournament on Saturday, September 30 and was defeated by private school St. Ann of Nashville 3-1.  The Jr. Blackcats also played that day and were defeated by North Clay in extra innings 7-5. 

    Congratulations to both teams for a great season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 8 JR. BLACKCATS NAMED SIC ALL-CONFERENCE 2011-12 

    Congratulations to Justin Shadowens, Jared Vaughn, Taylor Reichert, and Madison Sopczak for being named Southern Illini Conference 1st Team All-Conferemce in baseball/softball and Nolan Vaugh, A.J. Scola, SAlexis Massey, and Ashlyn Darnell for being named to 2nd Team All-Conference!

    The Goreville Jr. High Blackcats baseball team beat Christopher Jr. High in extra-innings to win the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association Regional Championship!

  •    2011 JR. BLACKCATS SIC CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT CHAMPS!!!

    Just a week after claiming the Johnston City Invitational, the Goreville Junior Blackcat Baseball Team is now the Southern Illini Conference Baseball Tournament Champions!  They defeated Cobden, Century, and Shawnee to win the tournament.

    The Goreville Jr. High Blackcats baseball team ended their season 22-3 and took 4th Place in State!!!

    The Goreville Junior Blackcats Baseball Team defeated Unity Point to win their 4th consecutive SIJHSAA Regional Championship!

  • 9 JR. BLACKCATS NAMED 2013 SIC ALL-CONFERENCE!     

    The Southern Illini Conference has announced the 2012 Baseball and Softball All-Conference Teams.  The IJHSAA Regional Champion and State Runner-Up Jr. Lady Cats had four named - Camren Anderson (8th Grade) was named MVP of the Conference and 1st Team, with Macy Goins (7th Grade) and Cheyenne Walker (6th Grade) also named to the 1st Team while Ashlyn Darnell (8th Grade) was named 2nd Team.  For the SIC and Regional Tournament Champion Jr. Blackcats, they had 5 named - Brant Glidewell (8th Grade), Peyton Massey (7th Grade) and Tanner Dunn (7th Grade) were named 1st Team while Braden Webb (7th Grade) and Blaine Dunning (8th Grade) were named 2nd Team.

    Goreville Junior High School has 6 players named All-Conference in baseball and softball!  For the Jr. Lady Cats, Mckenzi Shaede, Taylor Reichert, and Ashlyn Darnell were named 1st Team while Hannah Murley was named 2nd Team.  For the Jr. Cats, Justin Shadowens and Jared Vaughn were both named 2nd Team.

    The Jr. Blackcats Baseball Team defeated Cobden by a score of 16-6 in the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association Regional Championship and the Jr. Lady Blackcats Softball Team defeated Jonesboro by a score of 10-0 in the SIJHSAA Championship for BOTH teams to earn a trip to the SIJHSAA State Tournament in Pinckneyville, IL!

    The Goreville Jr. High Lady Blackcats softball team defeated Unity Point to win their 2nd straight Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) Regional Championship while the Jr. Blackcats baseball team defeated Vienna to win their 3rd straight SIJHSAA Regional Tournament!  The Lady Cats were defeated in the semifinals of the IJHSAA State Tournament.

    Congratulations on a GREAT SEASON!!!

  •    10 JR. BLACKCATS SIC ALL-CONFERENCE!  

    The State Champion Goreville Jr. High Blackcats baseball team had a school and conference record 6 players chosen by the Southern Illini Conference coaches as "All-Conference" while the Jr. Lady Cats placed 4!  For the Jr. Cats, Braden Webb, Chance Duringer, Tanner Dunn, and Brodie Lennon were named 1st Team All-Conference and Peyton Geyman and Peyton Massey were named 2nd Team All-Conference.  Braden Webb was also named "MVP" of the conference!  For the Jr. Lady Cats, Macy Goins, Hannah Link, Cheyenne Walker, and Hollie Link were all named 1st Team All-Conference.
